The IOSH Safety for Executives and Directors course equips senior leaders with the knowledge and confidence to manage health and safety effectively. It highlights the moral, legal, and financial responsibilities of directors and demonstrates how strong leadership can create a positive safety culture.

Through five focused modules, participants will learn to integrate health and safety into business strategy and develop a personal action plan to drive continuous improvement. Successful completion earns an official IOSH digital certificate.

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

Understand their legal and moral responsibilities regarding health and safety.
Identify the strategic advantages of proactive risk management.
Integrate health and safety objectives into the company’s overall vision and strategy.
Evaluate and improve health and safety performance within their organisation.
Develop a personal action plan including three concrete commitments to implement within their workplace.

Le public ciblé

Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Managing Directors, Board Members, or Senior Executives holding high-level positions of responsibility.
Any individual responsible for governance, strategic management, or HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) compliance within their organisation.

Les prérequis

No formal academic prerequisites are required; however, participants are expected to hold a director-level or executive management position within their organisation.

However, it is recommended that learners have a good level of English, as all course materials and assessments are provided in English.

The training is structured around five key modules:

1.The Moral, Legal, and Financial Foundation of Health and Safety

Legal framework and directors’ responsibilities
Financial and reputational consequences of non-compliance
Real-world examples of exemplary companies

2. Plan – Planning for Health and Safety

Define a clear HSE policy aligned with the company’s overall strategy
Identify risks and prioritise actions

3. Do – Implementing Health and Safety

Establish effective systems and procedures
Engage teams and communicate proactively about safety

4. Check – Monitoring Health and Safety Performance

Track and evaluate key performance indicators
Conduct audits and share feedback and lessons learned

5. Act – Continuously Improving Health and Safety Performance

Embed continuous improvement into the company culture
Promote best practices and address areas for improvement

Evaluation:

Final assessment in the form of an individual action plan and a personal commitment.
Each participant has two attempts to submit their action plan.
Upon successful completion of the assessment, an official IOSH digital certificate will be awarded.

E-Learning: Approximative duration 4 hours, an optional 3-hours additional reading.

Open virtual : 1- day course delivered through webinar software. The course is a blend of live sessions delivered by our IOSH certified trainers, supported by our digital learning platform

The durations indicated are approximate and based on a full learning day.
The program e-learning is delivered as a self-paced without an instructor. Participants may progress at their own pace once enrolled. Access provided to the platform is 6 months.
